Welcome to KK-05!!

I am so happy that you are a part of my 2017-2018 Kindergarten Class! This website will be a place that I will share information about our week including reminders, weekly skills, and year long goals. Please check back each week to stay updated on KK-05! This is going to be a great year!!!

Our Week at a glance
Hope everyone had a great SPRING BREAK!! This week we are learning about how plants grow and the 4 things they need to survive (air, water, soil, sunlight). We germinated lima beans to watch the root process. We are also starting to practice for our KK Program which will be on Friday April 13 at 9:00. Please mark your calendars and plan to come!!! This week also marks the start of BOOSTERTHON which is a technology fundraiser for Richland. Our school goal this year is to raise $40,000 (last we raised 36k). Please log on to funrun.com to register your child so they can get the free prize and watch the character videos. Our actual fun run will be next Thursday March 29 at 9:00-10:00 followed by our class Egg Hunt at 10:15-10:45!! This is a super fun event and we need a few parents to come that morning to cheer us on and hide the eggs. Each child needs to bring in one dozen candy/treat filled eggs. Please send them in by next Wed. March 28. Please TAPE them shut so they will stay closed during the hunt!! We also need someone to donate white gift bags with handles- we will decorate these for our "baskets". They come in packs of 12 at Michaels (we need 21 bags). Our class is also out of copy paper. If each child could bring in one ream of paper that would really help! If anyone would like to donate a case that would be awesome too!!
Important dates:
Wednesday March 28-send in 12 candy/treat filled eggs (taped shut)
Thursday March 29 FUN Run 9-10/Egg Hunt 10:15-10:45
Friday April 13 KK Program 9-10
Share Days: Monday-Riley, Landon, Simi, Liam    Tuesday-Blake, Grace, Jiyah, Lacey   Wednesday- Anna, Dywon, Zoe, Grant   Thursday- Jonathan, Eleanor, Ahmed, Jennings   Friday- Marian, Tre, Kameron, Eisley

HOMEWORK: Remember that the homework packet is completely OPTIONAL. I will not be checking it. I would like for you to read with your child each day for 10-15 minutes (or work on sight words). You may see some Eureka math workbook pages being sent home. Some of them we do in class and some of them are a bit too easy for our kids so I am sending them home for you to do with as you please! Sometimes in math we add work that challenges our kids more but use the same skill.
